Photo Tour Summary:

Join us for 7 days of photography adventure in the Northwest and North Coast of the Island of Ireland on the world famous Wild Atlantic Way and Causeway Coast. Ireland is a place seldom visited by photographers, the harsh coastline, winding roads, and fields of green make it a tricky place to navigate. The locations are there, rivaling some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Unlike other European countries, Ireland has yet to go through a photography boom, which makes it an ideal place for us to explore. With its glacial lakes, rolling hills, lighthouses, waterfalls, super seascapes, sea arches and sea stacks it really doesn’t get much better than that, but something that makes it better is the fact that throughout your 8 days with us in Ireland you are likely to see only a handful of other photographers along the way.

During this workshop, should conditions allow, we will shoot sunrise and sunset every day with appropriate breaks in between to make sure you stay fully focused and ready for anything the Irish weather throws at you.

Once dressed according to the weather, Ireland is a place where the rewards are there when the work is put in. Rain, hail or shine, no matter what the weather at the end of each day you can unwind with a pint of the black stuff and relive the adventures of the days shooting with your comrades.

Ireland is guaranteed to give you the adventure of a lifetime.

Workshop Itinerary:

Day 1-4: Donegal

We will pick you up at Dublin Airport or the designated hotel nearby on Day 1, and start driving to our hotel in Donegal (3.5 hours). Our hotel in Donegal is central to most of our locations and within 2030 minutes. There are one or two locations 45 minutes to 1 hour away should weather favor us. Please note that a lot of locations in Ireland are on private lands but thankfully we have permission to bring groups through the majority of these lands. Some, not all locations require 15-20 minute to walk to our final spots, generally on easy going ground and what you would expect for landscape photography. During our stay in Donegal, we will be focusing on seascapes, sea arches, sea stacks, mountains, lakes and lighthouses. There are unlimited creative opportunities here in Donegal!

Day 5-6: Causeway Coast

On day 5, we will drive to Northern Ireland (1.5 hours). Our Hotel in Northern Ireland couldn’t be better situated, right on the coast in the small village of Portballintrae. It is also central to everywhere we will shoot with most places within 15-20 minutes but no location further than 30 minutes away. Access to our locations in Northern Ireland is easy with just few small steps to each location. We will be focusing on photographing castles, sea stacks, giants causeway, dark hedges, seascapes.

Day 7-8: Dublin

We will spend our last night in Dublin’s fair city. We will stay at the Portmarnock Hotel or Grand Hotel. Once we arrive and check in, we can take the short 10 minutes drive to Howth, get dinner, and shoot sunset at Howth Harbor Lighthouse. Depending on flight times on the last day, we could also shoot sunrise at Howth Cliff walk Lighthouse before departing for the airport.
